Use of Ineligible Player for Franklin
"Sometimes doing what is right is not popular and doing what is popular is not always right." I don't know who originally made that statement, but it is true in this case.
After Franklin self-identified the use of an ineligible player, (Anthony Perez), I researched which games would be affected. Mr. Perez played in one game, 19 Jun. The game on 19 Jun result was Franklin 5 Paducah 4. That game will now be recorded as a forfeit with a score of 9 to 0 in favor of Paducah per the OVL ByLaws Article 18 Section 5 Subsection A and B.
The individual statistics of each player in the 19 Jun game will stand except for a pitcher of record. No winning or losing pitcher will be recorded based on NCAA Rule 10, Section 28, subsections a and b. …"If the winning team by forfeit is behind or the score is tied at the time of the forfeit, do not enter a winning or losing pitcher ."…
Franklin brought forth the highest level of integrity by bringing this error to my attention. Given the circumstances and information available I believe no further action is needed in this case. No further penalty shall be assessed based on the self-identifying by Franklin.
This ruling is final and non-appealable
