Wednesday Night Game Results

Wednesday night was doubleheader night in the OVL, with all six teams playing twin bills to make up or complete at least one of the games rained out this month.

• Paducah Chiefs vs Fulton Railroaders - The Chiefs swept the Railroaders, winning the completion of a halted nine-inning game by the final score of 11-8, and winning the seven-inning game that followed 14-5.
• Full Count Rhythm vs Madisonville Miners - The Miners won the opening game 6-5 with a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh; the Rhythm rebounded to take down the Miners 12-2 (five inning run rule) in the nightcap.
• Henderson Flash vs Hoptown Hoppers - The Hoppers took Game 1 7-5, and the Flash took Game 2 11-0. 

Current Standings

The Flash (26-10) maintain their 1.5-game lead over the Hoppers (23-10) with only two regular season games left on the schedule. The Rhythm (19-15) and Chiefs (14-17) locked up the third and fourth place spots, while the Miners (11-25) and Railroaders (10-26) are battling for the fifth and sixth spots in the standings. All teams are off tommorrow, Thursday, July 16, before getting back in action on Friday and Saturday nights. Check our schedule for the final games.

Playoff Picture

The final playoff brackets will be set this weekend, but here's the format:

• The top two seeds get a first-round bye.
• The 3-seed will host the 6-seed in a best-of-three series. The winner will advance to face the 1-seed in a best-of-three semifinal series.
• The 4-seed will host the 5-seed in a best-of-three series. The winner will advance to face the 2-seed in a best of three semifinal series.
• The winners of the semifinal series will face each other in a best-of-three series to decide the championship.
• The higher seed will host Games 1 and 3 (if necessary) in all series, with the lower seed hosting Game 2.

Postseason Awards

• Our postseason awards will be announced this weekend, so stay tuned for more details. We will announce the members of the 2026 All-OVL Team, as well as the winners of the Gordon Guess Most Valuable Pitcher and Cubb Stokes Most Valuable Offfensive Player Awards.
