GAME 1 - Bottom Of The Lineup Carries Madisonville Miners Past Fulton Railroaders

The bottom of the lineup helped Madisonville Miners capture a 6-4 victory over Fulton Railroaders on Monday at Elmer Kelley Stadium, Madisonville, KY. Cason Troutman, Preston Bedford, and Reid Harvey combined for four of the team's eight hits in the victory. They scored two runs and drove in two.

Fulton Railroaders got on the board in the top of the first inning after Mason Cook singled, and Charlie Ferbet hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Madisonville Miners went back into the lead after Fulton Railroaders committed an error, Bedford walked, and Troutman hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Fulton Railroaders tied the game in the top of the eighth thanks to a single by Garrett Taylor, and a double by Jake Vitale.

In the bottom of the eighth, Madisonville Miners broke up the tie when Troutman singled, scoring one run. Then a walk by Fred Fernandez followed to extend the lead to 6-4.

Zakary Rasener earned the win for Madisonville Miners. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking none. Erich Radzinski took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The reliever went two and one-third innings, surrendering three runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking three. Brayden Taylor led things off on the bump for Madisonville Miners. The righty allowed four hits and four runs (one earned) over seven and one-third innings, striking out two and walking none. Diego Duque opened the game for Fulton Railroaders. The lefty surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking five. Luke Connors collected the save.

Troutman, the number nine hitter for Madisonville Miners, led the way with two runs batted in. They went 2-for-3 on the day. Pete Britton, Troutman, and Bedford each collected two hits for Madisonville Miners. Madisonville Miners had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game.
