Colin McClure A Difficult Out As Paducah Chiefs Defeat Hoptown Hoppers
Colin McClure collected three hits in four at bats, as Paducah Chiefs defeated Hoptown Hoppers 12-2 on Thursday at Brooks Stadium. McClure singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Paducah Chiefs won thanks in part to eight runs in the first inning. Kyle Hayes drew a walk, scoring one run, Brady Grabowski singled, scoring one run, Parker Price singled, scoring two runs, McClure singled, scoring two runs, and Ayden Terry doubled, scoring two runs.
Paducah Chiefs added one run in the third after Danny Rollins hit a sacrifice fly.
Max Vosters earned the win for Paducah Chiefs. They gave up seven hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking none. Gavin Lake took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. They went two-thirds of an inning, giving up eight runs on five hits, striking out none and walking three. Klayton Wright tossed two innings of no-run ball for Paducah Chiefs in relief. The reliever allowed four hits, striking out one and walking one.
Paducah Chiefs collected 14 hits in the game. Grabowski and McClure each collected three hits for Paducah Chiefs. Will Gibbs, Price, Terry, and David Limbach each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Paducah Chiefs had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Gibbs and Terry led the team with two walks each. Paducah Chiefs turned two double plays in the game.
Hoptown Hoppers accumulated 11 hits in the game. Dom Davis and John Kiebler each collected three hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Jordan Gonzalez went 1-for-3 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. Brayden Eftink collected two hits for Hoptown Hoppers in three at bats. Hoptown Hoppers turned one double play in the game.
