Nazhir Bergen drove in five runs on three hits to lead Madisonville Miners past Hoptown Hoppers 11-1 on Wednesday. Bergen tripled in the third inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fourth inning, scoring two.

Madisonville Miners opened the scoring in the second after Preston Bedford singled, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Fred Fernandez singled, scoring one run, Bergen tripled, scoring three runs, and Payton Stephenson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Bergen doubled, scoring two runs, Brayden Taylor hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Cason Troutman singled, scoring two runs.

Taylor earned the win for Madisonville Miners. They gave up four hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Payton Armour took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The righty went three innings, giving up nine runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking two. Ethan Barrett appeared in relief for Madisonville Miners.

Madisonville Miners piled up 12 hits in the game. Pete Britton and Taylor each collected multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. Madisonville Miners were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Troutman had the most chances in the field with six.

Caden Buxton went 1-for-3 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. Hadley Smith went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Hoptown Hoppers in hits. Hoptown Hoppers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Kolby Webb made the most plays with six.

Madisonville Miners will travel to Henderson Flash for their next game on Thursday.
