Game 1 - Madisonville Miners Defeated 5-2 By Paducah Chiefs
Madisonville Miners opened the scoring in the third after Nazhir Bergen doubled, scoring one run.
Paducah Chiefs flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 5-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to left field by Kyle Hayes that drove in four.
Madisonville Miners scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Kaden Ray.
Kaden Heatherly started on the bump for Madisonville Miners. They surrendered four hits and five runs over three innings, striking out two and walking three. Joe Peca stepped on the mound first for Paducah Chiefs. They surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking three.
Amir Bergen, Bergen, Jace Parnin, and Ray each collected one hit for Madisonville Miners. Bergen and Ray each drove in one run for Madisonville Miners. Madisonville Miners had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Oliver Clark and Preston Bedford led the team with two free passes each.
Hayes provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Paducah Chiefs with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Colin McClure, Paducah Chiefs's number nine hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Paducah Chiefs turned one double play in the game.
