Hoptown Hoppers Secure 7-3 Win Against Fulton Railroaders
Hoptown Hoppers were victorious against Fulton Railroaders 7-3 on Saturday.
Hoptown Hoppers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Preston Rager drew a walk, scoring one run, Esteban Sepulveda drew a walk, scoring one run, and Aaditya Sur hit a sacrifice fly, scoring three runs.
Mason Cook homered to right field, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh for the Fulton Railroaders.
Payton Armour started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking one. Mitt Landers started the game for Fulton Railroaders. They allowed six hits and six runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking three. Dalton Sisson and Sam Patrick each came on in relief for Hoptown Hoppers and shutdown Fulton Railroaders.
Sam Perkins, Hoptown Hoppers's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in four at-bats. Braden Pingel, Rager, Sepulveda, and Sur each drove in one run for Hoptown Hoppers. Hoptown Hoppers had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Rager and Sepulveda led the team with two free passes each. Hoptown Hoppers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Max Martin made the most plays with eight.
Cook and Jake Vitale were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Fulton Railroaders. Cook went 2-for-4 at the plate as they led the team with three runs batted in.
Hoptown Hoppers will travel to Henderson Flash for their next game on Sunday, and the Railroaders host the Chiefs on Sunday.
