Hoppers Surge Past Railroaders 10-0 in Seven Innings
Hoptown Hoppers defeated Fulton Railroaders 10-0 on Wednesday thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning. Preston Rager homered to left field, scoring two runs, Grant Snider drew a walk, scoring one run, Ruben Ogando doubled, scoring one run, Dom Davis drew a walk, scoring one run, Caden Buxton drew a walk, scoring one run, and Rager drew a walk, scoring one run.
Hoptown Hoppers opened the scoring in the third after an error scored two runs.
Dalton Sisson started on the bump for Hoptown Hoppers. The right-handed pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Diego Duque stepped on the mound first for Fulton Railroaders. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and seven runs (five earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three. Graham Kelham threw one inning of scoreless ball for Hoptown Hoppers in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.
Rager, the number seven hitter for Hoptown Hoppers, led the way with three runs batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Ogando led Hoptown Hoppers with two hits in four at bats. Hoptown Hoppers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Buxton and Max Martin led the team with two bases on balls each. Hoptown Hoppers didn't commit a single error in the field. Davis had the most chances in the field with 12.
Drake DeFreitas led Fulton Railroaders with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position.
