Fulton Railroaders Victory Over Hoptown Hoppers 12-8

Andres Aybar drove in four runs on three hits to lead Fulton Railroaders past Hoptown Hoppers 12-8 on Tuesday. In the fourth inning, Aybar hit a grand slam to right field.

Bats blistered as Fulton Railroaders collected 12 hits and Hoptown Hoppers tallied 12 in the high-scoring game.

A double play put Fulton Railroaders on the board in the bottom of the first.

Hoptown Hoppers took the lead in the top of the second. Gavin Lake doubled, scoring two runs, to give Hoptown Hoppers the upper hand, 2-1.

A single by Brayden Eftink extended the Hoptown Hoppers lead to 3-1 in the top of the third inning.

Fulton Railroaders flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring six runs on four hits to take a 8-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a grand slam to right field by Aybar that drove in four.

Diego Duque earned the win for Fulton Railroaders. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and five runs (four earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out six and walking two. Lake took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The righty went three and one-third innings, surrendering seven runs on eight hits, striking out none and walking four. Cole Sims collected the save. Erich Radzinski and Kanon Lewis each appeared in relief for Fulton Railroaders.

Fulton Railroaders accumulated 12 hits in the game. Mason Cook, Charlie Ferbet, and Garrett Taylor each collected multiple hits for Fulton Railroaders. Jonathon Walsh paced Fulton Railroaders with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Fulton Railroaders turned two double plays in the game.

Hoptown Hoppers piled up 12 hits in the game. Braden Pingel, Grant Snider, and Hadley Smith each collected two hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Smith and Lake each drove in two runs for Hoptown Hoppers. Hoptown Hoppers had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Pingel and Eftink led the team with two walks each. Pingel stole two bases. Hoptown Hoppers turned three double plays in the game. Hoptown Hoppers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Carson Tucker made the most plays with seven.

Fulton Railroaders will travel to Paducah Chiefs for their next game on Wednesday. The Hoppers host the Henderson Flash on Wednesday.
