Hoppers Lose to Miners at Home

Madisonville Miners got on the board in the top of the third inning after Pete Britton hit into a fielder's choice, and Madisonville Miners scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

Brayden Eftink started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. They allowed six hits and four runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking none. Corbin Gillentine stepped on the mound first for Madisonville Miners. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and one run over six innings, striking out one and walking one. Gillentine picked up the Win.

Number eight hitter, Gavin Lake, showed the depth of Hoptown Hoppers's lineup, by leading them with three hits in four at bats. John Kiebler went 1-for-5 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. Hoptown Hoppers turned one double play in the game.

Preston Bedford and Brandon Gibson each collected two hits for Madisonville Miners. Britton and Mason Pangborn each drove in one run for Madisonville Miners. Madisonville Miners were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kaden Ray had the most chances in the field with 10.

Hoptown Hoppers welcome Paducah Chiefs on Monday for their next game, and the Miners host the Flash from Henderson on Monday night.
