Four RBI Day For Will Gibbs Brings Victory For Paducah Chiefs Over Louisville Jockeys

Will Gibbs was clutch at the plate with ducks on the pond on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Paducah Chiefs past Louisville Jockeys 8-6 on Wednesday. Gibbs drove in runs on a single in the third, a double in the sixth, and a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Paducah Chiefs collected 12 hits and Louisville Jockeys had eight.

Louisville Jockeys got things started in the first inning when Jarrett Chapman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Paducah Chiefs took the lead for good with one run in the fifth inning. In the fifth Brayman Fraasman singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Paducah Chiefs tallied three runs in the third inning. Paducah Chiefs put the pressure on, lead by singles by Gibbs, Gunnar Bingham, and Fraasman.

Klayton Wright was the winning pitcher for Paducah Chiefs. Wright went one and one-third innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and walking zero. Noah Boon, Christian Burgrabe, and Jordon Eaton all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Eaton recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Paducah Chiefs.

Payne Findley took the loss for Louisville Jockeys. The pitcher allowed three hits and two runs over one inning, walking one.

Cade Moore started the game for Louisville Jockeys. Moore lasted four innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out one and walking zero Jaacob Ehling started the game for Paducah Chiefs. The ace allowed three hits and one run over two innings, striking out two and walking one

Paducah Chiefs tallied 12 hits in the game. Gibbs, Fraasman, Ben Brombaugh, and Luke Dymond each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Dymond, Brombaugh, Fraasman, and Gibbs each collected two hits to lead Paducah Chiefs.

Austin Taylor went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Louisville Jockeys in hits.
