Muhlenberg County Stallions Can't Catch Up To Hoptown Hoppers
Muhlenberg County Stallions watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 3-2 loss to Hoptown Hoppers on Friday. Hoptown Hoppers took the lead on a home run in the second inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Hoptown Hoppers pitchers struck out ten, while Muhlenberg County Stallions sat down nine.
Hoptown Hoppers fired up the offense in the second inning, when Carter Hood hit a solo homer.
Brady Ginaven pitched Hoptown Hoppers to victory. Ginaven went six innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out eight and walking one. Jacob Dilday and Myles Green entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Green recorded the last four outs to earn the save for Hoptown Hoppers.
Brody Niebrugge took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. Niebrugge surrendered three runs on three hits over seven innings, striking out eight.
