Five Pitchers Work Together As Hoptown Hoppers Defeats Fulton Railroaders In Shut-Out

Hoptown Hoppers defeated Fulton Railroaders 7-0 on Friday as five pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jaxon McTyre struck out Bennett Detrude to finish off the game.

Hoptown Hoppers pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the fourth.

Hoptown Hoppers fired up the offense in the first inning. Luis Vergara doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

A single by Tasso Foster in the first inning was a positive for Fulton Railroaders.

Brady Ginaven got the win for Hoptown Hoppers. Ginaven lasted five innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out three. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Jacob Dilday, McTyre, Tim Cansler, and Cannon Anthony all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

Brady Mallow took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. The hurler surrendered four runs on four hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Hoptown Hoppers tallied eight hits in the game. Carter Hood, John Keibler, and Vergara all collected multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Vergara, Keibler, and Hood each collected two hits to lead Hoptown Hoppers.

Fulton Railroaders didn't commit a single error in the field. Jackson Garrett had the most chances in the field with nine.
