Madisonville Miners ran off with the lead late in the game in a 9-6 victory over Henderson Flash on Wednesday. Madisonville Miners trailed 6-5 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Alex DiVito doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Madisonville Miners collected nine hits and Henderson Flash had seven.

Henderson Flash got things moving in the first inning, when Luke Scales hit a solo homer.

Madisonville Miners pulled away for good with five runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Wyatt Cunningham singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Dong Joon Shin doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Matthew Ray started the game for Henderson Flash. The pitcher went four innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out one Reid Gongwer started the game for Madisonville Miners. The pitcher lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out one

Madisonville Miners hit one home run on the day. Shin had a homer in the third inning.

Madisonville Miners racked up nine hits in the game. Shin, Colton Shirley, and DiVito all managed multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. DiVito, Shirley, and Shin each collected two hits to lead Madisonville Miners. Madisonville Miners was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Connor O'Connell had the most chances in the field with nine.

Henderson Flash totaled seven hits. Ellis Hurt and Logan Lacey all managed multiple hits for Henderson Flash.
