Hoptown Hoppers opened up scoring in the first inning, when John Keibler singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Paducah Chiefs knotted the game up at four in the top of the fourth inning. Christian Beal grounded out, scoring one run.
After Paducah Chiefs scored one run in the top of the second, Hoptown Hoppers answered with one of their own. Paducah Chiefs scored when Luke Dymond lined out, driving in a run. Hoptown Hoppers then answered when Robert Estrada singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Paducah Chiefs pulled away for good with three runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Dymond doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs and Sam Kestranek singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Jacob Overbeck earned the win for Paducah Chiefs. The fireballer surrendered six runs on 11 hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Joe Peca threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Peca recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for Paducah Chiefs.
