Dubois County Bombers Stays Scrappy In Loss To Hoptown Hoppers

Dubois County Bombers fought back after falling down by four runs in the second inning. The comeback fell short, though, in an 8-7 defeat to Hoptown Hoppers on Thursday. Dubois County Bombers tallied six runs in the failed comeback. Dustin DuPont, Kasten Harvey, Drew Howard, and Cade Gudalis came through with RBIs to lead the rally.

Dubois County Bombers was right in it until Hoptown Hoppers singled in the eighth inning.

Hoptown Hoppers got things moving in the first inning when Ren Tachioka hit a solo homer.

After Hoptown Hoppers scored three runs in the top of the second, Dubois County Bombers answered with three of their own. Hoptown Hoppers scored when Sean Sullivan singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run and Tachioka doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs. Dubois County Bombers then answered when DuPont doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs and Harvey drew a walk, scoring one run.

Aaron Moss got the win for Hoptown Hoppers. Moss lasted two innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero. Cody Hupp, Jacob Dilday, and Chase Harlan all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Weston Allen took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. The righty went two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out one.

Marcus Goodpaster started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing seven hits and five runs Gavin Morris started the game for Dubois County Bombers. Morris lasted two innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out five and walking one

Dubois County Bombers smacked one home run on the day. Gudalis went deep in the fifth inning.

Dubois County Bombers saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Howard, Ryan Davis, Gudalis, and Chase Taylor all managed multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Davis and Howard each collected three hits to lead Dubois County Bombers. Dubois County Bombers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Harvey made the most plays with 11.

Hoptown Hoppers racked up 12 hits on the day. Sullivan, Jacob Dupps, William Spear, Luis Vergara-Schoonewolf, and Tachioka each racked up multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers.
