Henderson Flash Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning To Defeat Dubois County Bombers

Henderson Flash took the lead late and defeated Dubois County Bombers 6-3 on Monday. The game was tied at one with Henderson Flash batting in the bottom of the sixth when Colton Evans homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs.

Henderson Flash opened up scoring in the second inning, when Nick Wimber singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

After Dubois County Bombers scored two runs in the top of the seventh, Henderson Flash answered with two of their own. Dubois County Bombers scored when Grant Hotchkiss singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. Henderson Flash then answered when Zach Thomas singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Henderson Flash pulled away for good with three runs in the sixth inning.

Blake Ciuffetelli took the win for Henderson Flash. The lefty surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Kobe Matsen, Brock Hammond, and Adam Weihe all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Hammond recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Henderson Flash.

Braden Pickett took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. The righty lasted five innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out six.

Henderson Flash smacked one home run on the day. Evans went for the long ball in the sixth inning.

Henderson Flash racked up ten hits on the day. Casey Sorg, Thomas, and Evans all had multiple hits for Henderson Flash. Evans, Thomas, and Sorg each managed two hits to lead Henderson Flash.

Dubois County Bombers totaled seven hits in the game. Victor Alvarez Martinez and Hotchkiss each managed multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Dubois County Bombers was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Dustin DuPont had the most chances in the field with 11.
