Franklin Duelers Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Franklin Duelers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-1 loss to Fulton Railroaders on Sunday. Fulton Railroaders scored on a home run by Braxton Baird and a home run by Ryan Callahan in the first inning.

The Franklin Duelers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Fulton Railroaders, giving up eight runs.

In the first inning, Fulton Railroaders got their offense started. Baird hit a solo homer.

Sam Poindexter earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Fulton Railroaders. The hurler went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven. Drew Davis and William Buck entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Jacob Hernandez took the loss for Franklin Duelers. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing three hits and three runs.

Fulton Railroaders mashed three home runs on the day. Baird went for the long ball in the first inning. Callahan went yard in the first inning. Parker Estes had a homer in the seventh inning.

Brett Rowell, Nathaniel Lai, Sam Slaughter, Mark Castle, and Jay Curtis each managed one hit to lead Franklin Duelers.

Fulton Railroaders collected 12 hits on the day. Callahan, Baird, and Ryan Lee each managed multiple hits for Fulton Railroaders.
