Mitchell Collects Four Hits As Madisonville Miners Defeats Louisville Jockeys

Luke Mitchell got busy on the basepaths on Friday, knocking four hits in Madisonville Miners' 12-1 victory over Louisville Jockeys. Mitchell singled in the first, singled in the third, homered in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Madisonville Miners got things moving in the first inning. James Basham drew a walk, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners put up five runs in the sixth inning. Basham and Ryne Wallace each had RBIs in the frame.

Jake O'Connell was the winning pitcher for Madisonville Miners. O'Connell went six innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out six, and walking one. Slaide Naturman threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Cody Medley took the loss for Louisville Jockeys. The right-hander lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and six runs while striking out three.

Madisonville Miners launched three home runs on the day. Mitchell put one out in the fourth inning. Wallace had a dinger in the third and sixth innings.

Madisonville Miners tallied 11 hits on the day. Mitchell, Wallace, and Austin Baal each collected multiple hits for Madisonville Miners. Mitchell led Madisonville Miners with four hits in four at-bats.

Max Samson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Louisville Jockeys in hits. Louisville Jockeys didn't commit a single error in the field. Jaret Humphrey had the most chances in the field with five.
