Hoptown Hoppers lost the lead late in a 17-4 defeat to Madisonville Miners on Tuesday. The game was tied at three with Madisonville Miners batting in the top of the fifth when Ryne Wallace singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

The Hoptown Hoppers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Madisonville Miners, giving up 17 runs.

Hoptown Hoppers got things moving in the first inning. Luis Vergara-Schoonewolf hit a solo homer.

Madisonville Miners scored six runs in the seventh inning. Luke Mitchell, Wallace, James Basham, Parker Stroh, Kobe Jones, and Gavin Kriegel all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Beau Coffman earned the win for Madisonville Miners. The right-hander went five innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out seven. Cameron Goble threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Garrett Blevins took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. Blevins lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs.

Hoptown Hoppers socked two home runs on the day. Jacob Dupps had a dinger in the fourth inning. Vergara-Schoonewolf went yard in the first inning.

Vergara-Schoonewolf led Hoptown Hoppers with two hits in four at-bats.

Madisonville Miners racked up 13 hits on the day. Wallace, Jackson Lindsey, Jones, Mitchell, and Jackson Owen all managed multiple hits for Madisonville Miners.
