Four Franklin Duelers Pitchers Rally Together To Shutout Dubois County Bombers

Franklin Duelers defeated Dubois County Bombers 6-0 on Monday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Gage Coffman induced a groundout from Terrick Thompson to finish off the game.

In the second inning, Franklin Duelers got their offense started when Quincy Smith II singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Franklin Duelers notched three runs in the seventh inning. Franklin Duelers offense in the inning was led by Smith II and Rashard Grace, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

One bright spot for Dubois County Bombers was a single by Josh Newton in the first inning.

Daniel Courtney pitched Franklin Duelers to victory. The bulldog surrendered zero runs on three hits over six innings, striking out four. Steven Oates, Nate Cunningham, and Coffman all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Coffman recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Franklin Duelers.

Ben Aird took the loss for Dubois County Bombers. The pitcher lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one and walking zero.

Franklin Duelers tallied 13 hits. Smith II, Jay Curtis, Mark Castle, and Jared Grenz each racked up multiple hits for Franklin Duelers. Smith II led Franklin Duelers with four hits in four at bats. Franklin Duelers didn't commit a single error in the field. Castle had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.
