Late Score Costs Muhlenberg County Stallions Against Madisonville Miners

Muhlenberg County Stallions lost the lead late in a 7-2 defeat to Madisonville Miners on Sunday. Madisonville Miners trailed 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning when Nick Hammond homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Muhlenberg County Stallions tied things up at one when an error scored one run for Muhlenberg County Stallions.

Madisonville Miners scored three runs in the eighth inning. James Basham and Evan Liddie each had RBIs in the frame.

Justin Naylor got the win for Madisonville Miners. The southpaw lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out six and walking zero. Slaide Naturman threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Nate McKissick took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. The right-hander went six and a third innings, allowing four runs on nine hits, striking out four, and walking one.

Muhlenberg County Stallions tallied one home run on the day. Mack Clark had a four-bagger in the sixth inning.

Clark, Kail Hill, and Kevin Sosa each managed one hit to lead Muhlenberg County Stallions.

Madisonville Miners racked up 14 hits. Basham, Jake O'Connell, Jackson Lindsey, Kobe Jones, Luke Mitchell, and Liddie each racked up multiple hits for Madisonville Miners.
