Hoptown Hoppers lost the lead late in a 16-11 defeat to Franklin Duelers on Friday. The game was tied at 11 with Franklin Duelers batting in the top of the ninth when Jackson Norris drew a walk, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers collected 12 hits and Franklin Duelers had 15 in the high-scoring affair.

Franklin Duelers got on the board in the first inning when Jay Curtis doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers notched four runs in the eighth inning. The big inning was thanks to a triple by Joshua Rodriguez, a single by Ren Tachioka, and an error on a ball put in play by Drew Donaldson.

Jacob Lassiat was the winning pitcher for Franklin Duelers. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero. Gage Coffman and James Dickson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Blake Sarjent took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The righthander allowed zero hits and three runs.

David Ernst started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. Ernst lasted five innings, allowing 12 hits and nine runs while striking out two and walking zero Joel Martinez started the game for Franklin Duelers. The bulldog allowed seven hits and six runs over four and a third innings, striking out three

Hoptown Hoppers launched two home runs on the day. Jacob Dupps put one out in the second inning. Ronald Brown went yard in the fifth inning.

Hoptown Hoppers scattered 12 hits in the game. Tachioka, Anthony Zarlingo, and Rodriguez each managed multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Tachioka led Hoptown Hoppers with three hits in five at-bats.

Franklin Duelers collected 15 hits. Curtis, Mark Castle, Sam Slaughter, and Jackson Musrock each had multiple hits for Franklin Duelers. Curtis went 4-for-6 at the plate to lead Franklin Duelers in hits.
