Franklin Duelers Blows Out Madisonville Miners Thanks To Big Fifth Inning

A seven-run fifth inning led Franklin Duelers to a 12-4 victory on Wednesday. The offensive onslaught by Franklin Duelers was led by Jackson Musrock, Jay Curtis, Mark Castle, Kelvin Reece, and Bryce Cape, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

In the second inning, Madisonville Miners got their offense started when Kobe Jones grounded into a double play, scoring one run.

Franklin Duelers pulled away for good with seven runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Musrock hit a solo homer, Curtis's sac fly scored one run for Franklin Duelers, Castle singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Reece homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs, and Cape singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Reid Howard got the win for Franklin Duelers. The fireballer surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out three. Ethan Vandament and Liam Samuels entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Will Kiesel took the loss for Madisonville Miners. Kiesel surrendered five runs on six hits over four and a third innings, striking out five.

Franklin Duelers launched two home runs on the day. Musrock had a four-bagger in the fifth inning. Reece had a homer in the fifth inning.

Franklin Duelers saw the ball well today, racking up 15 hits in the game. Curtis, Jared Grenz, Rashard Grace, and Cape all collected multiple hits for Franklin Duelers. Cape, Grace, Grenz, and Curtis each managed two hits to lead Franklin Duelers.

Madisonville Miners collected eight hits. James Basham, Jackson Lindsey, and Austin Baal each had multiple hits for Madisonville Miners.
