Paducah Chiefs built a six-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Dubois County Bombers' charge for a 12-10 victory on Monday. Dubois County Bombers scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Josh Newton in the sixth, a single by Connor Oxley in the sixth, an error in the eighth, and a fielder's choice by Andrew Kightlinger in the eighth.

Bats blistered as Paducah Chiefs collected 13 hits and Dubois County Bombers tallied 12 in the high-scoring game.

Paducah Chiefs took an early lead in the first inning. Paducah Chiefs scored one run when Cal Cook singled.

Paducah Chiefs took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Grant Godwin singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs and JD Bogard drew a walk, scoring one run.

Paducah Chiefs notched four runs in the fourth inning. Cook, Bogard, and Zach Hayes powered the big inning with RBIs.

Dubois County Bombers scored three runs in the eighth inning. Dubois County Bombers' big inning was driven by a fielder's choice by Kightlinger and an error on a ball put in play by Cade Gudalis.

Corbin Guthman led things off on the pitcher's mound for Paducah Chiefs. The righty allowed four hits and four runs over three innings, striking out three. Evan Oakley recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Paducah Chiefs.

Jack DeDonato was on the hill for Dubois County Bombers. The southpaw went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out three. Drew Howard, Weston Allen, Grant Stratton, and Tavien Tigg each entered the game as relief, throwing two and two-thirds innings, one and one-third innings, one inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.

Paducah Chiefs tallied 13 hits. Gage Griggs, Godwin, Cody Holub, Elijah Brooks, and Cook each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Godwin and Griggs all had three hits to lead Paducah Chiefs.

Dubois County Bombers collected 12 hits on the day. Camden Gasser, Gudalis, Oxley, Newton, and Ryan Davis all managed multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Gasser led Dubois County Bombers with three hits in six at-bats.
