Louisville Jockeys Clinches Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Owensboro RiverDawgs

Louisville Jockeys took the lead late and defeated Owensboro RiverDawgs 12-9 on Saturday. The game was tied at nine with Louisville Jockeys batting in the bottom of the eighth when Jonah Wichman drew a walk, scoring one run.

Owensboro RiverDawgs scored five runs in the fifth inning, but Louisville Jockeys still managed to pull out the victory. Brayden Mundy, Tyler McClure, and Logan Bland each drove in runs during the inning.

Louisville Jockeys captured the lead in the second inning. Max Samson grounded out into a double play but still was able to knock in one run.

Louisville Jockeys evened things up at nine in the bottom of the sixth inning. Austin Taylor hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

After Owensboro RiverDawgs scored one run in the top of the third, Louisville Jockeys answered with one of their own. Owensboro RiverDawgs scored when EJ Clark singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Louisville Jockeys then answered when Wichman singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Louisville Jockeys notched four runs in the second inning. Wichman, Collin Goda, and Samson each had RBIs in the big inning.

Cody Medley led things off on the mound for Louisville Jockeys. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out three.

Brandon Davis toed the rubber for Owensboro RiverDawgs. Davis allowed 12 hits and nine runs over five and a third innings, striking out three. JJ Arbini and Reece Davis entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings and one-third of an inning respectively.

Owensboro RiverDawgs socked two home runs on the day. Jake Allgeyer had a homer in the first inning. Mundy put one out in the fifth inning.

Louisville Jockeys had 16 hits in the game. Carson Boles, Wichman, and Taylor all collected multiple hits for Louisville Jockeys. Taylor, Wichman, and Boles each collected three hits to lead Louisville Jockeys.
