Franklin Duelers wins contest against Hoptown Hoppers on Saturday, 8-5

In the first inning, Hoptown Hoppers got their offense started when Luis Vergara-Schoonewolf hit a solo homer.

Franklin Duelers pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Sam Slaughter hit a solo homer, Matt Jenkinson doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Rashaad Robinson singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Bryce Cape singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

Daniel Courtney led the Franklin Duelers to victory on the hill. The pitcher went two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two, and walking zero. Liam Samuels threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Garrett Blevins took the loss for Hoptown Hoppers. The pitcher went four innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out four, and walking one.
