Dubois County Bombers Blows Out Owensboro RiverDawgs Thanks To Big Fifth Inning

A six-run fifth inning led Dubois County Bombers to an 11-1 victory on Tuesday. The big inning was thanks to singles by Grant Hotchkiss, Cordell Coburn, and Xander Willis and by Dustin DuPont.

Owensboro RiverDawgs got on the board in the first inning. Daniel Lopez drove in one when Lopez singled.

Dubois County Bombers pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Coburn singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Connor Oxley doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Dubois County Bombers notched six runs in the fifth inning. Dubois County Bombers put the pressure on, lead by singles by Hotchkiss, Coburn, and Willis and by DuPont.

Eli Steimel was credited with the victory for Dubois County Bombers. Steimel went three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out two, and walking one. Weston Allen and Cory Anderson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Allen recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Dubois County Bombers.

Ethan Gibson took the loss for Owensboro RiverDawgs. The pitcher went four and a third innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out two, and walking one.

Jack DeDonato started the game for Dubois County Bombers. The lefty surrendered one run on one hit over three innings, striking out one

Dubois County Bombers collected 15 hits. Hotchkiss, Oxley, Victor Alvarez Martinez, Willis, Coburn, and DuPont all had multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Hotchkiss led Dubois County Bombers with three hits in five at-bats. Dubois County Bombers was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Oxley made the most plays with six.
