Paducah Chiefs lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat to Hoptown Hoppers on Sunday. The game was tied at two with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the top of the sixteenth when Fred Fernandez doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

Blake Sarjent was credited with the victory for Hoptown Hoppers. The righthander allowed zero hits and one run over two innings, striking out two. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Jacob Dilday, Cody Hupp, Dylan Brown, and David Ernst all securing outs and ultimately the victory. Ernst recorded the last out to earn the save for Hoptown Hoppers.

Payton Heinley took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. The southpaw allowed three hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Kailen Hamson started the game for Paducah Chiefs. The lefty allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out six Marcus Goodpaster started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. Goodpaster allowed three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out six and walking one

Paducah Chiefs tallied eight hits in the game. Cody Holub and Gage Griggs each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Griggs and Holub each collected two hits to lead Paducah Chiefs.

Hoptown Hoppers racked up 12 hits. Fernandez, Ren Tachioka, and Hunter Hyden each racked up multiple hits for Hoptown Hoppers. Fernandez led Hoptown Hoppers with three hits in three at-bats.
