Franklin Duelers Claws Back, But Falls Just Short Against Fulton Railroaders

Despite a 6-run deficit in the sixth inning, Franklin Duelers almost came all the way back, eventually falling 7-5 to Fulton Railroaders on Thursday. Franklin Duelers scored four runs in the failed comeback on a single by Nate Mix, a walk by Joey Johnston, and a double by Davis Burick.

Fulton Railroaders got things started in the second inning. Webster Walls drew a walk, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, Franklin Duelers tied things up at one when Burick doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Fulton Railroaders pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Parker Estes singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs, Alex Langford doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and Jackson Case singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Franklin Duelers put up four runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was thanks to a walk by Johnston, a single by Mix, and a double by Burick.

Jordyn Naranjo got the start for Fulton Railroaders. The lefty went six innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out four.

Zach Sliger led things off on the pitcher's mound for Franklin Duelers. Sliger allowed seven hits and five runs over four and third innings, striking out one. Joseph Delgado and Jaxson Lucas entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and two-thirds innings and two innings respectively.

Franklin Duelers racked up eight hits. Benny Hymes and Burick all collected multiple hits for Franklin Duelers. Burick and Hymes each managed two hits to lead Franklin Duelers.

Fulton Railroaders totaled 12 hits in the game. Estes, Seth Gardner, and Case each collected multiple hits for Fulton Railroaders. Estes led Fulton Railroaders with four hits in five at bats.
