High Score Not Enough To Secure Win For Paducah Chiefs Over Dubois County Bombers

Paducah Chiefs's bats were strong against Dubois County Bombers on Sunday, but it wasn't enough as Paducah Chiefs fell 12-7.

Paducah Chiefs opened up scoring in the first inning. Adam Brian grounded out, scoring two runs.

Dubois County Bombers pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Simon Scherry hit a solo homer and Brett Pfaadt grounded out, scoring two runs.

Dubois County Bombers scored three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Dubois County Bombers came thanks to a home run by Jared Sermersheim and a double by Payton Hall.

Ryan Johnson led the Dubois County Bombers to victory on the mound. The pitcher surrendered six runs on three hits over five and a third innings, striking out two. Weston Allen and Max Manning entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Allen recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Dubois County Bombers.

Trent Hyde took the loss for Paducah Chiefs. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits and striking out two.

Dubois County Bombers smacked two home runs on the day. Sermersheim had a dinger in the seventh inning. Scherry went deep in the fourth inning.

Dubois County Bombers collected 12 hits. Hall, Scherry, and Drew Taylor each managed multiple hits for Dubois County Bombers. Hall went 3-for-6 at the plate to lead Dubois County Bombers in hits.
