Late Score Costs Henderson Flash Against Hoptown Hoppers

Henderson Flash stayed in it until the end, but Hoptown Hoppers pulled away late in a 7-5 victory on Friday. The game was tied at four with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the top of the tenth when Ben Huber hit a solo homer.

In the first inning, Henderson Flash got their offense started. Brandon Boxer singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

In the top of the seventh inning, Hoptown Hoppers tied things up at four. Hunter Evans hit a solo homer.

Tyler Walton took the win for Hoptown Hoppers. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Brennan Crooms threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Crooms recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hoptown Hoppers.

Matthew Craven started the game for Henderson Flash. He surrendered two runs on three hits over four and a third innings, striking out six Zach Losey started the game for Hoptown Hoppers. He surrendered four runs on one hit over five and two-thirds innings, striking out nine

Hoptown Hoppers hit four home runs on the day. Chandler Kendall had a homer in the fourth and tenth innings. Evans had a four bagger in the seventh inning. Huber had a long ball in the tenth inning.

Gunner Smith, Josh Johnston, Boxer, and Trey Hutchison all had one hit to lead Henderson Flash.

Kendall went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Hoptown Hoppers in hits.
