Late Score Costs Owensboro RiverDawgs Against Hoptown Hoppers

Owensboro RiverDawgs stayed in it until the end, but Hoptown Hoppers pulled away late in an 8-7 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at seven with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the top of the eighth when Greg Mehlhaff's sac fly scored one run for Hoptown Hoppers.

Despite the loss, Owensboro RiverDawgs did collect nine hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Hoptown Hoppers had five hits on the way to victory.

Owensboro RiverDawgs got things started in the first inning when Ian Ellis singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers scored four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Hoptown Hoppers was led by Wyatt Stevenson and Charlie Fischer, who all drove in runs.
