Paducah Chiefs Nabs Win Over Muhlenberg County Stallions Despite Early 4-Run Inning
Paducah Chiefs weathered a push by Muhlenberg County Stallions in the fourth inning where Paducah Chiefs coughed up four runs, but Paducah Chiefs still won 11-6 on Saturday. The big inning for Muhlenberg County Stallions came thanks to a single by Seth Taylor and a fielder's choice by Will Myers.
Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Paducah Chiefs collected 13 hits and Muhlenberg County Stallions had eight.
In the second inning, Muhlenberg County Stallions got their offense started when Anthony Hennings singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.
Paducah Chiefs pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Alan Roden singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, Jordan Gould induced John Michael Russ to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Brenton Tidd singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, and Pierce Mitchum singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Blake Bagenstos took the win for Paducah Chiefs. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out five and walking one. Brady Austin and Mitch Turner entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Gould took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. He allowed six hits and seven runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Paducah Chiefs had 13 hits in the game. Tidd, Grayson Taylor, Russ, Reid Pope, and Mitchum each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Mitchum, Pope, Russ, Taylor, and Tidd each collected two hits to lead Paducah Chiefs. Paducah Chiefs was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Russ made the most plays with 14.
