Hoptown Hoppers nabbed the lead late in the game in an 8-5 victory over Owensboro RiverDawgs on Friday. The game was tied at five with Hoptown Hoppers batting in the bottom of the seventh when Hunter Evans's sac fly scored one run for Hoptown Hoppers.

Hoptown Hoppers earned the victory despite allowing Owensboro RiverDawgs to score three runs in the sixth inning. Owensboro RiverDawgs scored its runs on a home run by Bailey Falkenstein.

Hoptown Hoppers fired up the offense in the first inning. Micah Genter grounded out, scoring one run.

Wyatt Stevenson got the win for Hoptown Hoppers. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking zero. Jacob Lents and Brennan Crooms entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Crooms recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hoptown Hoppers.

Blaine Gillim took the loss for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He allowed zero hits and three runs.
