Muhlenberg County Stallions Can't Quite Erase 5-Run Deficit In Loss To Paducah Chiefs

Despite a 5-run deficit in the third inning, Muhlenberg County Stallions almost came all the way back, eventually falling 8-7 to Paducah Chiefs on Saturday. Muhlenberg County Stallions put up six runs in the failed comeback. Noah Myers, Jalen Horton, Brady O'Neil, Kyle O'Brien, O'Neil, and Zack Tong each picked up RBIs.

Muhlenberg County Stallions couldn't keep up with Paducah Chiefs early in the game. Paducah Chiefs scored on a single by Kyle Antos, a single by Brandon Kelly, and a double by Nick Shumaker in the second inning.

Paducah Chiefs pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. In the second Antos singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run, Kelly singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs, and Shumaker doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Muhlenberg County Stallions tallied three runs in the seventh inning. Muhlenberg County Stallions' big bats in the inning were led by a walk by O'Brien, a single by O'Neil, and a fielder's choice by Tong.

John Dowless earned the victory on the hill for Paducah Chiefs. He surrendered six runs on ten hits over six innings, striking out three. Logan Bowen threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Bowen recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Paducah Chiefs.

Alan Howe took the loss for Muhlenberg County Stallions. He allowed eight hits and six runs over five and a third innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Muhlenberg County Stallions tallied one home run on the day. O'Neil had a dinger in the fifth inning.

Muhlenberg County Stallions had 14 hits in the game. Ronnie Allen, O'Neil, Javy Lopez, Jacob Morris, Horton, and Justin Chauvin all managed multiple hits for Muhlenberg County Stallions. Chauvin, Horton, Morris, Lopez, O'Neil, and Allen each collected two hits to lead Muhlenberg County Stallions. Muhlenberg County Stallions tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Morris led the way with two.

Paducah Chiefs collected 11 hits on the day. Kelly, Shumaker, and Antos all collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Kelly went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Paducah Chiefs in hits.
