Madisonville Miners Holds Off Muhlenberg County Stallions For Victory

Madisonville Miners built a four-run lead in the third inning and then held off Muhlenberg County Stallions' charge for a 7-6 victory on Sunday. Muhlenberg County Stallions put up five runs in the failed comeback. Eddy Hart, Justen Voghel, Hunter Combs, and Brady O'Neil all picked up RBIs in the rally.

Madisonville Miners collected five hits and Muhlenberg County Stallions had 14 in the high-scoring affair.

Muhlenberg County Stallions got on the board in the first inning. Combs hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

Madisonville Miners pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Will Stump drew a walk, scoring one run and Graham Hackbarth homered on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring four runs.

He went three innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out three, and walking one. Jefferey O'Doherty and Logan Brewer entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. O'Doherty recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Madisonville Miners.
