Hoptown Hoppers Loses Lead Early In Defeat
Hoptown Hoppers fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-5 loss to Owensboro RiverDawgs on Monday. Owensboro RiverDawgs scored on a home run by Danny Torres in the first inning, a single by Ian Ellis in the second inning, a sacrifice fly by Cam Curry in the second inning, and a grand slam by Bryce Walker in the second inning.
The Hoptown Hoppers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Owensboro RiverDawgs, giving up 11 runs.
Owensboro RiverDawgs took the lead for good with eight runs in the second inning. In the second Ellis singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs, Curry's sac fly scored one run for Owensboro RiverDawgs, and Walker homered on a 2-2 count, scoring four runs.
Blake Graham took the win for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He lasted five innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out seven. Bo Robison threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Trey Fortner took the loss for the Hoptown Hoppers. He allowed five hits and eight runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
