Muhlenberg County Stallions Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Hoptown Hoppers

Muhlenberg County Stallions stole the lead late and defeated Hoptown Hoppers 9-7 on Thursday. The game was tied at seven with Muhlenberg County Stallions batting in the bottom of the sixth when Noah Myers homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Muhlenberg County Stallions collected nine hits and Hoptown Hoppers had four.

Muhlenberg County Stallions opened up an early lead in the first inning when Bryson Horne homered on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

Muhlenberg County Stallions took the lead for good with five runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Horne hit a solo homer and Cary Holloway tripled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Hoptown Hoppers scored three runs in the fifth inning. Aidan Elias and Matt Keane all drove in runs in the frame.

Cole Lyons pitched Muhlenberg County Stallions to victory. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out six. Adrian Comas threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Comas recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Muhlenberg County Stallions.

Brian Coffey took the loss for the Hoptown Hoppers. He went five innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits, striking out six, and walking one.

Kaelin Woodard started the game for Muhlenberg County Stallions. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and seven runs while striking out five

Muhlenberg County Stallions hit three home runs on the day. Horne had a homer in the first and sixth innings. Myers put one out in the sixth inning.

Horne went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Muhlenberg County Stallions in hits. Muhlenberg County Stallions was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kyle O'Brien had the most chances in the field with nine.

Keane led Hoptown Hoppers with two hits in five at-bats.
