Hoptown Hoppers Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Hoptown Hoppers fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 6-1 loss to Muhlenberg County Stallions on Wednesday. Muhlenberg County Stallions took the lead on a groundout in the first inning.

Muhlenberg County Stallions got things moving in the first inning, when Brady O'Neil grounded out, scoring one run.

Jack Ockerman led the Muhlenberg County Stallions to victory on the pitcher's mound. He allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out four and walking zero. Tyler Mattes threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Mattes recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for Muhlenberg County Stallions.

Trey Fortner took the loss for the Hoptown Hoppers. He lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out six and walking one.

Hoptown Hoppers smacked one home run on the day. Blake Jackson went for the long ball in the ninth inning.

Aidan Elias went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Hoptown Hoppers in hits.

Muhlenberg County Stallions totaled ten hits. Javy Lopez, Justin Chauvin, and Noah Myers each racked up multiple hits for Muhlenberg County Stallions. Lopez led Muhlenberg County Stallions with three hits in five at-bats. Muhlenberg County Stallions didn't commit a single error in the field. Hunter Combs had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
