Paducah Chiefs Grabs Lead In Eighth Inning To Defeat Hoptown Hoppers

Paducah Chiefs nabbed the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Hoptown Hoppers on Friday. The game was tied at two with Paducah Chiefs batting in the bottom of the eighth when Blake Johnson's sac fly scored one run for Paducah Chiefs.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Paducah Chiefs pitchers struck out four, while Hoptown Hoppers' pitchers sat down 12.

Hoptown Hoppers evened things up at two in the top of the sixth inning when Blake Jackson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Isaiah Glidden was the winning pitcher for Paducah Chiefs. He went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits and walking one. Brady Bibbs and Logan Bowen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Bowen recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Paducah Chiefs.

Ryan Traylor took the loss for the Hoptown Hoppers. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on zero hits, striking out four, and walking zero.

Sage Holderfield started the game for the Hoptown Hoppers. He went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out eight, and walking one Stone Selby started the game for Paducah Chiefs. He surrendered two runs on four hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one

Brandon Kelly led Paducah Chiefs with two hits in four at-bats. Paducah Chiefs didn't commit a single error in the field. Nick Shumaker had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.
