Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Hoptown Hoppers and Madisonville Miners where Hoptown Hoppers prevailed 12-7.

Hoptown Hoppers got on the board in the first inning. Hoptown Hoppers scored two runs when Blake Jackson homered.

Hoptown Hoppers pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Joe DeFina singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Hoptown Hoppers scored five runs in the fifth inning. Davis Keller, Malik Blaise, Cole Cummings, and Cord Johnson all drove in runs in the frame.

Shane Burns earned the victory on the hill for Hoptown Hoppers. He allowed one hit and zero runs over four and a third innings, striking out seven. Kendall Marshall, MJ Rookard, and Hassan Westbrook all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team toward victory. Westbrook recorded the last out to earn the save for the Hoptown Hoppers.

Colin Casey took the loss for Madisonville Miners. He allowed eight hits and ten runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five.
