Fulton Railroaders Can't Keep Lead In Game With Paducah Chiefs

Fulton Railroaders and Paducah Chiefs passed the lead back and forth on Saturday, but eventually, Paducah Chiefs prevailed 25-18. Paducah Chiefs was down 12-11 in the top of the fifth inning when Nick Shumaker homered on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

RJ Green collected six hits in defeat. Green homered in the first, singled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, singled in the eighth, and singled in the ninth.

Fulton Railroaders took an early lead in the first inning. Fulton Railroaders scored one run when Matt Higgins doubled.

Tanner Smith was the winning pitcher for Paducah Chiefs. He went four innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and striking out three. Henry Boechmann threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Evan Patrick took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. He surrendered ten runs on 12 hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one.

Paducah Chiefs had 26 hits in the game. Shumaker, Pierce Mitchum, Sockwell, Hubbard, Homan, Andrew Lannon, Brenning, and Stephens each collected multiple hits for Paducah Chiefs. Shumaker went 6-for-7 at the plate to lead Paducah Chiefs in hits.
