Owensboro RiverDawgs Nabs Win Over Fulton Railroaders Despite Early 3-Run Inning

Owensboro RiverDawgs weathered a push by Fulton Railroaders in the third inning where Owensboro RiverDawgs coughed up three runs, but Owensboro RiverDawgs still won 9-3 on Saturday. Fulton Railroaders batters contributing to the big inning included Matt Higgins and Sam Stohr, all driving in runs in the inning.

In the first inning, Owensboro RiverDawgs got their offense started when Danny Torres's sac fly scored one run for Owensboro RiverDawgs.

Owensboro RiverDawgs pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Najay King homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs and Kobe Stephens doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Chase Thomas took the win for Owensboro RiverDawgs. He lasted six and a third innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out seven. Trevor Salmon threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Salmon recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for Owensboro RiverDawgs.

RJ Green took the loss for Fulton Railroaders. He allowed ten hits and six runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.

Owensboro RiverDawgs hit two home runs on the day. King put one out in the third inning. Sid Kumar had a four-bagger in the sixth inning.

Owensboro RiverDawgs racked up 12 hits on the day. Stephens, Cam Curry, and Nick Sanders each racked up multiple hits for Owensboro RiverDawgs. Stephens led Owensboro RiverDawgs with three hits in four at-bats.

Tyler McCown went 2-for-5 at the plate to lead Fulton Railroaders in hits.
