Oilers Won The Independence Day Battle With The Visiting Miners On A Score Of 7-5
The Owensboro Oilers won the Independence Day battle with the visiting Madisonville Miners on Tuesday. The Oilers played add-up early, leading 2-0 after one complete inning,6 to 1 after four innings, and 7 to 1 after seven complete innings. The Miners pressured the contest with two runs each in the 8th and 9th innings, but came no closer than 7 to 5 for the home team when the last out was secured.
