The Paducah Chiefs defeat the Fulton Railroaders, 6-5
In 7 innings. (From Fulton) A sudden downpour of rain in Fulton lasting an hour before the 5 p.m. doubleheader start forced the Railroaders and Chiefs to move their games to the University of Tennessee at Martin's Skyhawks Park. Both teams and crews moved quickly ten miles south and began the first game play at 7 p.m. central time.
In game one both teams put up 3 runs in the first three innings before the Railroaders took the lead in the fourth scoring 2 runs. Fulton held a 5-3 lead until the top of the sixth inning when Paducah began their comeback scoring one run. In the top of the seventh and final inning the Chiefs put up 2 more runs to take a 6-5 lead. The Railroaders led off the bottom half of the seventh with a double followed by three straight strikeouts to end the game.
Brandon Calia pitched the entire 7 inning game for Paducah for the win. He gave up 7 hits, 5 runs (3 earned), 4 walks and had 7 strikeouts.
Fulton's starter Tyler Magley threw for 6 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 earned runs, 4 walks with 3 strikeouts. Taking the loss for the Railroaders was Konnor Aherin who threw the final inning and tagged for 2 earned runs that gave the winning lead to the Chiefs.
