The Dubois County Bombers defeat the Fulton Railroaders, 6-0

In 7 innings. (From Dubois County) The Dubois County Bombers opened a double-header sweep of the Fulton Railroaders with a 6-0 victory. If the highlight was a complete game shutout performance by Renton Poole, the lowlight was a one-hour-plus rain delay.

Poole limited the visitors to three hits and didn't walk a batter. He struck out nine in the seven-inning contest and didn't allow a single Fulton baserunner to reach second base until there were two down in the seventh.

Zach Gray singled in Macy Holdsworth in the third inning for the Bombers' first run. Dubois County added four more in the next frame, keyed by a Holdsworth bases-loaded double.

After rains wiped out games the past two nights, the teams again had to battle the elements to get the contest in the books. A heavy rain soaked the area for about fifteen minutes in the fourth inning. The total delay would be over an hour before the field could be made suitable for play.

With water all around, it is only fitting that it was the Poole in the center of the diamond that drew all the attention. Renton Poole's record improved to 4-1, with a season ERA that drops below 1.00. His 53 strikeouts leads the league.

Tyler Magley takes the loss for the Railroaders, dropping his record to 1-4.
