The Dubois County Bombers defeat the Fulton Railroaders, 7-1

(From Fulton) The DC Bombers pitching and bats out preformed the Railroaders to hand Fulton their second straight loss. The Bombers improve to 2-0 in the early season and the Railroaders drop below .500 with a 1-2 record.

 

Dubois County totaled 10 hits on the evening to produce their 7 runs. The offense was lead by Miles Hardy going 3-for-5, 2 RBI with one run scored, and Connor Moroder added a solo homerun. Bombers in the field contributed to the win playing tough defense and error free ball.

 

The Railroaders managed 4 hits but were unable to rally several times during the game. Their only run finally came in the bottom of the eighth inning from a sacrifice fly by Chase Slone with a runner on third. Fulton's defense managed two double plays during the game but also had 2 errors. DC's timely hitting and base running added to the Railroaders woes.

 

Bomber starting pitcher Caleb Wagner threw a strong game through 6 innings giving up 3 hits, no runs, 2 walks and striking out 6, he earned the win. Kevin Forde, Connor Moroder and Brian Wichman completed the game on the mound for DC.

 

The loss went to Railroader starter Tyler Magley who went for 6 innings allowing 7 hits, 4 earned runs, 3 walks and had one strikeout. Alex Smith and Alex Phillips finished out the final 3 innings.

 

The Railroaders host the Chiefs on Monday. The Bombers remain on the road to Muhlenberg County to take on the Stallions who won their fist game against the Chiefs this day.
