The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Hoptown Hoppers, 19-8

(From Fulton) The Railroaders fought back coming from behind to win over the Hoppers in Fulton and closed out the regular season for both teams. The Railroaders end the season with a 25-15 record and third in the standings behind the 25-15 Miners who own the tiebreaker beating Fulton 6 of 10 games head-to-head.

     The Hoppers (14-26) broke out with an early first inning lead after Trent Turner put one over Fulton's right field "Little Monster" with two men on base. Hoptown added two more runs in the fourth inning using two singles, a sacrifice fly and a Railroader error to tale a 5-0 lead.

     The Railroaders finally broke the ice and scored one run in the bottom half of the fourth. Kipp Moore doubled, stole third base and then scored on a RBI single from Lucas Eliason.

     Hoptown responded quickly in the top of the fifth inning scoring another run from a walk, error, and two singles containing a RBI. 

     Fulton jumped up two runs in the bottom of the fifth. A hit-by-pitch runner scored off a Kyle Uhrich double. Unrich later crossed home after the bases were loaded up and a second batter was hit by a pitch giving Jacob Elliott a RBI for his pain. The score now stood at 6-2 in favor of Hoptown.

     The Railroaders punched out another two runs in the sixth inning. With one man one, Kyle Uhrich sent a homer over the left field for 2 RBI cutting cutting into Hoptown's lead.

     Once again the Hoppers reacted swiftly in the top of the seventh inning. Matt Crowder doubled followed by Bo Coolen who promptly sent a ball over "Little Monster" for a 2 RBI homerun giving Hoptown an 8-4 lead.

     Fulton fired up their engine in the bottom half of the seventh. Kipp Moore led off with double to start the offense. After a walk and a fly out, Clay Reece popped a 3 RBI homer over right field's Little Monster to tie the game at 8 each. Following another walk and fly out, Kyle Uhrich steps to the plate and sends another 2 RBI over the left field fence to finalize the 10-8 score. 

     It was an outstanding night for Fulton's Kyle Uhrich going 3-for-5 with 2 homeruns and a double, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Clay Reece went 2-for-4, 3 RBI and one score. Brad Baldwin was 2-for-2 and scored 3 runs, Kipp Moore was 2-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs scored.

     For Hopkinsville; Bo Coolen was 3-for-5 with a homerun and 2 RBI, Trent Turner went 3-for-5 with a homerun, 3 RBI and 2 scores, Kyle Hubbuch was 4-for-5, one run and a RBI, Matt Crowder went 3-for-3 with a double and 3 runs scored, and Ernie de la Trinidad 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI and run scored.

     Kyle Estand get the win as the pitcher of record when Fulton took the lead. Estand had one inning of work with no hits, runs or walks and one strikeout. Starter Justin Hayden went for 4 innings giving up 7 hits, 5 runs (3 earned), no walks and had 5 strikeouts. Eddie Mathis earned a save pitching the final inning. Chandler Amason 2 1/3 innings and Charlie Hecht 2/3 inning threw in middle relief.

     Taking the loss was reliever Brantley Bray for one inning of work. Bray gave up 3 hits, 5 earned runs, 2 walks and had one strikeout.  Drake O'Bryant went for 4 2/3 innings allowing 7 hits, 3 earned runs, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Bryan Cruse threw middle relief for 1 /13 innings giving up one hit, 2 earned runs, one walk and 3 strikeouts. Bo Coolen pitched the final innings with only one hit and had one strikeout.
