The Fulton Railroaders defeated the Hoptown Hoppers, 3-2
(From Fulton) Game 2: The Railroaders posted the first score again in the game two in the bottom of the first inning. Griffin Neuer doubled with out and then was batted home when Brad Baldwin followed with a 2 RBI homerun.
The Hoppers got on the board in the third inning. Matt Cogen singled and made second base on a sacrifice bunt. Will Olson singled for a RBI sending Cogen home.
The Railroaders answered in the bottom half of the third. Jacob Elliott led off with a solo homerun to give Fulton a 3-1 lead.
Hoptown closed in on the lead in the top of the sixth inning. Matt Dunlevy reached on an error, stole second bases and advanced to third on a passed ball. Zac Sanders then doubled for a RBI scoring Dunlevy. The final score was now complete at 3-2 in Fulton favor.
Brad Baldwin was best for Fulton going 2-for-3, 2 RBI, one score and his homerun.
Bo Coolen was the only Hopper with 2 hits for 3 trips to the plate, no RBI or runs scored.
The night cap game of the doubleheader saw a complete game for both starting pitchers. Dillon Symon got his 2nd season win for 7 innings of work. He gave up 7 hits with 2 runs (one earned), 2 walks and had 3 strikeouts.
Byran Cruse takes the loss with 6 innings pitched allowing 4 hits, 3 earned runs, one walk and 7 strikeouts.
